 Six Tips to Reduce  Anxiety While Waiting for Test Results

Anxiety waiting for test results is normal. Try to focus on what you know not what you don't know.  Nothing is definite until you get the biopsy results so take it one step at a time.

Resist Internet Searching

Resist the urge to search the internet.  Searching the internet and getting medical advice from Facebook friends can put you on a spiral of needless worry and misinformation.  Find a trusted health professional to answer your questions.

Taming the mind

Thoughts can quickly spiral into worst case thinking.  Engage in practices like mindfulness, meditation, and prayer when you catch your mind starting to spiral.

Try the 54321 Grounding technique.

Focus on Self Care

Focus on taking care of yourself with health eating and gentle exercise.  Spend time doing things you enjoy and spending time with your loved ones.  Treating yourself to something special can be a welcome distration

Write it Down

Write down questions to ask your healthcare provider. Have a family member or friend with you during medical appointments. Keep notes using an app like Belong.Life or a cancer journal.
